Paul Cullum is Director of Strategy and Innovation for HSB Engineering Insurance, part of Munich Re, responsible for new product innovation and distribution strategy. Paul joined HSB in 2004, undertaking roles in business development, major risk underwriting and product development. Paul was HSB’s Director of Specialist Risks Manager from 2020 until his promotion to his current role. Prior to joining HSB, Paul held various roles within sales, underwriting and marketing for National Vulcan and RSA Engineering. Paul has over 35 years’ experience in the engineering insurance market. He has led HSB’s development of a number of market-leading insurance solutions in areas as diverse as machinery inherent defects, renewables, energy efficiency and cyber. In addition, Paul has presented on the topic of underwriting innovation for the CII and energy efficiency for the UN.
