The future of personal lines: invite-only
10:00 - 10:45
Sponsored by:
This roundtable will discuss the future of personal lines for brokers. Personal lines is changing. The market has been beset by a number of challenges in the post-pandemic world. This roundtable will discuss the challenges and highlight ways in which brokers can succeed.
Topics for discussion include:
- The changing customer: Customer expectations have moved in recent years beyond just price. They want a company they can trust, insurance that is reliable and that they know what they’re getting in return for their money. Are we meeting expectations?
- Technology & service: There are multiple ways to deliver personal lines insurance to brokers through software houses, extranets or human contact. Elsewhere, artificial intelligence and automation are seen as assisting in the service challenge. How are brokers finding their current use of technology? Is there the right blend of human and tech at present, or is more work needed? What are insurers doing behind the scenes with technology to improve broker service?
- Regulation: The regulatory workload on brokers is immense. Consumer Duty and the demand to deliver fair value across all products has created extra work. How are brokers coping? Can insurers do anything to help? And how much of difference will this all make to customers?
- Capacity: Capacity has been in shortage across personal lines. But some major players are stepping in. To what extent are brokers having their personal lines met with reliable and quality capacity? Is there enough capacity to create a compelling level of competition among personal lines products?
